 Review:
Into The Wild, which was written by Jon Krakauer, is a very well written book that is
about nature and how it can be unpredictable. The character Chris McCandless who is the main
character of the story wants to drop everything he has done within his life and wants to live
within the forest. Before he would go live in the forest he decided to get rid of most of his money
and make sure that no one would know what he was going to do. He met many people along his
way in his journey and most of these people he met had their lives changed because of this
man. He would eventually make his way towards Alaska and finely live free the way he wants to
live.

I felt that this book was very different and unique compared to other nonfiction books that

I have read in the past. Jon Krakauer makes this story unique by telling you the pieces of the
story in an unordered fashion which can cause you to want to read the story further to get all the
answers and find out what really happened to McCandless. The Book also further makes it
unique by having the author within the story and learning more about the characters that Chris
McCandless had interacted with. Also Jon adds even more to the story by telling about some of
his personal experiences in his life. Jon says that throughout the story that he can relate to
McCandless about his love for the outdoors and nature.

Would I recommend Other people to read Into the Wild? I would have to say yes
because this was a very enjoyable book to read. Reading throughout this books makes you
want to predict what is going to happen within the later chapters of the story. There are many
moments within the story that I saw coming and many that I was surprised on what happened.
I also feel like  you will enjoy the style Jon put into this book. It makes this book even more
enjoyable because of how it's written like a type of magazine article. Finally, like I said before I
would highly recommend you reading Into the Wild because you could never know what
could truly happen within the Wild.

  1. I read Into Thin Air which is also by Jon. I like how you included that it's written like a "magazine article" which makes sense considering Jon is a journalist. I want to read this book now because you mentioned there's surprises!

  2. This book seems very interesting. I wonder how old Chris is? I think you would have to be very adventurous to get rid of everything in your life and go live in the wilderness. Your review makes me want to read this book because it sounds like Chris has a way of changing peoples lives and there are some unexpected events.

  3. This book seems very interesting, I have considered reading it and I have seen parts of the movie version of it. I can't imagine dropping everything in my life to go live in Alaska, especially without telling anyone about it. I really love Krakauer's writing style, I have read Into Thin Air about the 1996 Everest disaster and I think it would be interesting to read something by him about someone else.
